Tim is the firm's founder and avid seaglass collector.

Timothy Grimes is the founder of the firm. Tim was early to adopt the client-centric advisory model, acting as a fiduciary to his clients.

Tim also recognized the value of financial planning and earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 1989, well before the CFP® became a well-recognized mark within the industry. Tim has been in the financial services since graduating from Bryant College in 1971. He spent 10 years working in various management positions for a large insurance and financial service corporation before leaving to establish his private financial planning practice in 1981. Tim’s private practice was incorporated as Grimes and Company in 1999, and the company has grown into a true enterprise and one of the largest and most successful RIA’s in the country.

Barron’s magazine recognized Tim as one of the “Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors“ in the country from 2009 through 2016 when he stepped down as president of the firm. Tim enjoys working with long term clients and is an active member of the Executive Management Team and the Investment Council.

Tim enjoys spending time with his 8 grandchildren and fishing on his boat off of Cape Cod. He is also an avid collector of seaglass having accumulated an extensive collection over the years from many walks on the beach.
