Barron’s 2023 annual ranking of the Top 1,200 Financial Advisors is based on a host of both quantitative and qualitative data.

Advisors seeking to be ranked must first complete a prequalification process designed to ensure that participating advisors are experienced and sophisticated. Advisors who meet the criteria then complete a survey about their practices. Barron’s verifies the data with the advisors’ firms and with regulatory databases and then we apply our rankings formula to the data to generate a ranking. The formula features three major categories of calculations: (1) assets (2) revenue (3) quality of practice. In each of those categories Barron’s performs multiple sub-calculations. Qualitative factors considered include advisor’s experience, their advanced degrees and industry designations, their charitable and philanthropic work, and their compliance records.
